For this premier, I went with a classic black dress by Christos Costarellos. It was brought to me by my stylist Toni Fererra. I paired the look with simple black Christian Louboutins, and 616 Couture by Sanaz earrings.
My hairstylist Etienne Ortega had CUT all my hair off a few days before the event, so I rocked a much shorter version of my larger than life Texas hair.
I get tons of questions asking how we get the hair so BIG. I have tried to write blog posts in the past addressing it, but here's the cliffs note version of what you need:
1. Teasing
2. Hair Spray, and
3. Clip in Extensions
Any girl that loves big hair needs a good pair of clip ins. I'm not a big fan of permanent extensions as I feel it's unnecessary to have all that hair 24 hours a day (when you sleep for example). Plus, it is really damaging for your natural hair.
First we curl the extensions (before we put them on my head), then we curl my own hair, and apply the extensions. Once they're all in, we tease at the root, and then apply lots of hair spray to hold it (my favorite is Paul Mitchell). Once we are finished styling, we go a step further to make it extra big by flipping my head upside down and then giving it one final good all over spray.
My makeup for the event was done by Rokael Lizama, and for this look we decided to go super light on the eye makeup. Almost no shadow, or eyeliner, and barely any Lilly Lashes (I think we used 1 strip instead of the usual 3 lol).
Overall it was a fun premier and a great night out with my friends :)

Dear Lilly,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that although you must have heard this a trillion times, you are drop dead gorgeous and an amazing woman. I am SOOOO glad that television has chosen to broadcast someone who is not only beautiful, but incredibly intelligent, talented and a business woman to boot. In addition to ALL THAT, you have values and morals!! You don't even drink alcohol! You built an empire for yourself and still keep it real with your fans. I want to let you know that you are an inspiration to women everywhere and to thank you for showing everyone that you don't have to marry a rich man or get naked to make a fortune. I sincerely hope I get the pleasure of meeting you one day. Thanks for being you!
You are a vision of Perfection and Beauty Ms Lilly
ReplyDeleteDear Lilly, I'm middle eastern and my hair is super thick and naturally straight. I absolutely LOVE the big, curly hair look. Unfortunately, my hair refuses to curl and finally when it does after holding the iron in for 25-30 seconds, my curls fall out after an hour or so. Any suggestions as to which curling iron to use and what to do? No amount of hair spray helps either :/
ReplyDeleteLily you are so pretty, your morals and desire to succeed are why you are my favorite character in Shahs of Sunset. You are truely on one of my idols, you both contain the qualities of elegance and knowledge. Keep it up, love your fan.
